FAQ

question  Why haven’t we heard of you before?
We do not advertise in the media — specialized professional service companies usually don’t, and our marketing and sales efforts are strictly targeted. It is very likely, however, that you have our materials somewhere in your office.

question   Where can we read about you?
Information about us can be found in: Kyiv Business Directory (latest edition), ESOMAR (European Society for Opinion and market Research) Membership Directory, Directory of Members in Good Standing of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine (we are an American company).

question   Where are you located?
In Ukraine our regional office is located in Dnipropetrovsk, the “political cradle” of Ukraine.

question   Why do you not have an office in Kiev?
Historically, we started out our business in Dnipropetrovsk. That’s where our corporate library and research center are located. Then we decided not to open any resentative office in Kiev, since it was burdensome in terms of finance. We are extremely mobile. It doesn’t really matter where the research center and library are. Besides, Kiev is not representative for Ukraine, while Dnipropetrovsk is considered the actual decision-making capital of the country, in terms of reflecting regional policies and processes. By maintaining our presence in Dnipropetrovsk we:
a) Save our Clients’ funds by keeping costs down, and
b) Always stay in touch with what really goes on in the regions.

question   How can you desribe your experience?
We have been operating on ex-USSR markets since 1989.

question   How expensive are your services?
Our fees depend very much on the type and magnitude of the project. They can vary considerably. We do not have “price lists”. Our approach to each client is strictly customized. We can, however, assure you that in terms of quality our work usually equals, and sometimes exceeds, the Big Five. Our invoices, on the other hand, tend to have one digit less.

question   How many people do you have in your staff?
We have ten full-time analysts and consultants. Add to that number more than 500 regional affiliates.

question   Which are specific segments and sectors of your experience?
Agri-business, FMCG, food products and packaging, chemical products and services, transportation, incl. automobile industry, banking, HR, telecomms, media, environmental technologies, construction business.

question   Do you specialize in any specific research areas?
We specialize in identification, retrieval, verification, and analysis of information. We manage data streams and information flows. We produce knowledge — that is our core competence. Information processes are similar in most industrial and/or business segments, which allows us being flexible in regard to various economic fields.

question   Can we see some examples of your past work?
We are very strict with our confidentiality procedures. Since all our reports are proprietary, we do not sell, distribute, publish, or otherwise make available the results of our work. They belong exclusively to our clients. As an ESOMAR member, Action Data Group adheres to the ICC/ESOMAR International Code of Marketing and Social Research Practice.
For marketing reasons, however, we have adapted some parts of our reports to serve as samples — you can view them on this site.

question   How do you guarantee the quality of your work?
If the required information physically exists, we will find it for our clients. On the other hand, today almost anyone can find information that surrounds us. What we guarantee is that we will scrupulously approach ALL the sources, bring together all the data, verify and cross-check them, questioning every fact and figure prior to the analysis. As a result, our clients receive only that kind of knowledge, which fully corresponds to their actual expectations, requirements and is “ready-to-use.”

question   What verification methods do you employ?
Quality control and methodological appropriateness checks are carried out at all stages: research design and methodology selection, desk research, field research, analysis, report writing, production. 25 to 60% of all the data and information, involved in the analytical process, are subjected to constant accuracy verification during the whole performance of the research.

question   Why do your methodologies and approach look similar to those of other research and consulting companies?
Why do all cars, regardless of make, have wheels, seats, and headlights? The basic methods for research and analysis are the same everywhere. The key difference is HOW every company uses the existing methodologies, how creatively and professionally it utilizes all the available tools. Our efforts in a research project are split as follows: 25% goes into planning, methodology development and launch, 40% — into actual research, 25% — into verification, and 10% — into final analysis, conclusions and report writing. In addition, we have extensive experience in consulting projects, of which our clients do not have a clear vision from the outset and know only the desired outcomes. In such cases we assist our clients in defining the specific knowledge needs and the ways to obtain this knowledge. Then we develop integration mechanisms, which will allow the clients to complement their existing systems with the results we provide, thus adding value to the established analytical and decision-making procedures.
